At 29 years old, Edmonton, Alberta-born artist and creative entrepreneur Chazzy Boo has built a story around transformation, community, and the belief that greatness rarely happens overnight.
The name Chazzy Boo carries a history much deeper than a stage persona. Growing up in Alberta during a difficult economic period, Chazzy found himself navigating instability at a young age. He was heavily involved in skateboarding and creative culture, but while couch surfing and struggling financially, he became involved in an illegal operation after being offered money and a place to stay.
During that chapter of his life, he became known simply as “Chaz.”
Eventually, the environment around him fell apart. After experiencing betrayal, legal complications, and a period of uncertainty, Chazzy reached a point where he had to decide what direction his life would take. The nickname “Chazzy,” given to him by women who knew him during that era, eventually evolved into Chazzy Boo. Instead of allowing the name to represent a dark period, he transformed it into something positive a reminder of where he came from and how far he intended to go.
Music and creativity had always been part of the bigger vision.
After resolving his legal matters and moving completely into legitimate pursuits, Chazzy connected with a tight-knit creative circle surrounding the University of Alberta. The community included producers, emcees, DJs, graphic artists, videographers, photographers, and other creatives who shared the same hunger to build something of their own.
What began with gatherings and events around campus quickly expanded. The collective moved from house to house as attendance grew before eventually booking venues throughout Edmonton. Although the original group later went in different directions with members relocating to Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and beyond the experience showed Chazzy what could happen when talented people were given a platform and an environment to connect.
That idea became the foundation for one of his biggest accomplishments: VIBE Series.
Alongside his business partner, a producer, Chazzy transformed a dying fraternity house into a creative hub and began developing VIBE Series as a platform dedicated to highlighting local talent. What started organically grew into a recognized event series featuring creatives throughout Edmonton and Calgary.
For Chazzy, it was never only about putting his own name in the spotlight. The real inspiration came from the people around him.
“The people you meet, the feeling you get from being around local talent and creative individuals the energy when things are organized and delivered in a positive manner,” he explains. “The collaborations that happen after clicking with creatives, the community that gets built around what we all love, and the culture that develops through it.”
That philosophy has remained at the center of his journey.
After the pandemic disrupted the momentum of live events, Chazzy turned his attention toward British Columbia's Lower Mainland, where an established music, film, and arts community presented new opportunities. He eventually relocated to Vancouver and later Downtown Vancouver, bringing the vision for VIBE Series with him and beginning another chapter of its growth.
Along the way, Chazzy has continued releasing his own music while contributing to the larger creative ecosystem around him. His journey has included helping established recording studios that have welcomed influential artists through their doors, developing relationships across different creative industries, and turning VIBE Series into a platform with an identity beyond any single event.
Now, the next chapter puts even more emphasis on Chazzy Boo the artist.
A wave of new releases is approaching, with new music and music videos preparing to roll out. After years spent building platforms, creating connections, organizing events, and helping strengthen the communities around him, Chazzy is continuing to invest that same energy into his own catalog and artistic vision.
His journey serves as proof that someone's beginning doesn't have to dictate their ending. What started during one of the most uncertain periods of his life eventually became the name attached to his music, his platform, and a growing creative movement.
His message to anyone chasing something bigger is simple:
“If you want to create something that resonates with you, fulfill yourself in your truest form, keep believing and just go out and seize your moment. You never know what will happen.”
For Chazzy Boo, many of the ideas that once existed only as conversations and dreams are finally becoming reality.
